The Situation:
Micah worked as a salesman, and was attending a company-sponsored ski trip. On one of his runs down the mountain, Micah’s skis crossed, causing a serious wipeout. His injuries were numerous, the worst of which occurred when Micah’s head struck two hardened, icy ski moguls.

Micah was able to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance, but that still left him on the hook for heaps of medical bills and lost wages.

Workers compensation determined that Micah’s injuries did not occur within “the scope of his employment.” We disagreed.
